Field Application Engineer – BMS| Shanghai/Shenzhen | 5+ years experience

PI Semi is founded by a team of industry veterans with a successful track record designing and marketing quality analog and mixed signal ICs, a market enjoying $60B in its annual turnover worldwide. Our core IPs and products support such applications as highspeed optical communications, 5G infrastructure, medical devices and systems, BMS, industrial control, and automotive ADAS systems and so on. To serve these markets, we are building a portfolio of precision analog IPs that enable high resolution ADCs, precision DACs, voltage references, high voltage drivers and many other products. The company is headquartered in Shenzhen, with design centers being staffed in Shanghai, Bangalore, and Dallas.

For our expansion of our Battery Management Systems business, we are looking for a BMS FAE with strong customer engagement and technical problem solving skills. You will need to accurately pass the customers requirements internally, working closely with production definition, design team and AE team to provide high-level solutions to the customers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide premium technical support leading to design wins

• Build relationships with key customer design and system engineers.   Be their “go to” contact for all technical discussions.

• Work with sales team to ensure each open opportunity is fully addressed from technical perspective until the design window is closed.

• Acquire customer ideas and accurately pass to internal team.

• Assist product definition team’s discussions with customers in order to validate proposed product specifications, and negotiate trade-offs in product features. Work with product definition, design and AE team to provide accurate, timely and quality responses to customer technical support requests, which include: device evaluation, design-in activities, etc.

• Using knowledge of BMS applications and systems, recommend application solutions, design ideas and products to customer design teams

• Work in lab with various test equipment, to verify customer issues, debug, validate solutions and design ideas

• Analysis of competitor solutions and identify key advantages/disadvantages to provide technical insights to the internal teams

• Develops a deep understanding of the BMS market and derives product ideas and feature requests for future devices

• Develops content and delivers technical trainings for distributors and customers

  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in EE, ECE or equivalent degrees

• At least 5 years experiences in automotive or industrial hardware development, particularly in battery pack design or general Battery Management System design and related applications

• Hands-on experience in electronic system design that includes conception, block diagrams, schematic capture, embedded systems, PCB layout, building and debugging.

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Experienced in the line of FAE duties working with battery pack, automotive and industrial customers

• Experienced in working in international and interdisciplinary teams

• Excellent communications and presentation skills in both Mandarin and English

• Functional Safety and ISO26262 knowledge would be a plus
