PI Semi is founded by a team of industry veterans with a successful track record designing and marketing quality analog and mixed signal ICs, a market enjoying $60B in its annual turnover worldwide. Our core IPs and products support such applications as highspeed optical communications, RF bias for 5G infrastructure, medical devices and systems, BMS, industrial control, and automotive ADAS systems and so on. To serve these markets, we are building a portfolio of precision analog IPs that enable high resolution ADCs, precision DACs, voltage references, high voltage drivers and many other products. Those products can be standard products, but can also be custom made solutions per customer requirements. The company is headquartered in Shenzhen, with design centers being staffed in Shanghai and Bangalore, India.
Join a well-funded analog IC design startup as a leader with responsibilities to build an analog IP portfolio from the ground up. This role calls for someone with a strong background in precision analog design (preferably focused on data converter design) and willing to mentor a team of junior analog designers. You will work closely with product definition and marketing to help take products from definition all the way to market introduction. This is a hands on design position with potential for a fast career growth.
We welcome engineers who share our values and who are committed to grow with us. The successful candidates will enjoy equity ownership, besides competitive salaries and benefits.
Primary responsibilities:
● Translate chip specifications into block level circuit specifications. Setup design, verification and silicon validation (bench and ATE testing) plans for these blocks.
● Develop a data convertor roadmap that includes SAR ADCs (16-bit, >2Msps), Sigma-delta ADCs(24-bit, low power) and precision DACs(16-bit).
● Work with the layout team for block level and top level design.
● Work closely with the digital design team for analog/digital partitioning of the IPs and top level verification.
● Documentation including design reviews and silicon characterization reports.
Secondary responsibilities:
● Provide inputs and feedback for long term foundry roadmap.
● Involvement in package design, production testing, reliability testing and yield management.
● Work with the Application engineering team to set up automated bench test routines using labview.
● Help solve system level issues for customers.
Qualifications:
● MSEE + 10 years analog design experience.
● Solid understanding of analog/mixed signal IC design, including feedback theory, device physics and semiconductor technology process.
● Silicon experience in one or more areas in the following: High precision (<5ppm drift) voltage references, high resolution (16-bit and greater) SAR ADCs, sigma-delta ADCs for medical/seismic/instrumentation applications, instrumentation OPAMPs.
● Lab characterization and debug experience for precision analog circuits/systems.
